Self discovery

After reading a post by one of my favorite bloggers this morning I came to the conclusion that I really need to change my reading habits. Other self respectable gay men are reading quality books while I toil away my time reading romance novels intended for aging housewives. What is wrong with me? I'm educated. I am perfectly capable of delving deep within myself to satisfy my curiosity of the unknown. But I don't.

I am a bad gay man. And I apologize to my gay brothers across the world.

Look for a book review on this site soon. A book, mind you, that doesn't involve a woman with a secret and the man she will predictably take into her lonely bed for a night of writhing passion and overdue heated release.

Don't feel too badly. I bought The DaVinci Code a month ago and it's still sitting on my coffee table unread. I've had two books going on for several months (one's a John Grisham, the other Harry Potter). I did, however, buy Ragan Fox's Heterophobia a week ago and I'm nearly finished with that (quite a feat, as it's poetry!). Oh, and I bought Hillary's book from audible.com and listened to that a few weeks ago (that's high brow culture, right?!).

No need to feel any shame. Every once in a while, I need to read about dark, handsome studs flashing their manhoods too :) I love trashy romances too - and I'm glad I'm not the only gay man around who does!

May I add my two-pence worth?! I think you should write that review but of one of your beloved romance novels, and sell it to any hot blooded gay male and any one else reading. Stand up for your right to enjoy any literature you want :-)

I'm a female and afraid that I never read romance novels as they just don't tickle me. But once upon a time I read some historical romances and they were good but not sure if it was just an easy way to get some idea of history! Currently I'm reading biographies of physicists which sounds quite high brow but it's not - there is just no accounting for tastes!

Read the quality stuff, but just like there is need for dessert, save some room from the fluff.
